Glenn Muller, executive director of the South Dakota Pork Producers Council (SDPPC), has announced his plans to retire on June 30.

Muller grew up on a farrow-to-finish swine operation near Davis, S.D., and earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural education from South Dakota State University. His vast experience in pork production, education and farm management equipped him to make a big impact during his time leading SDPPC.

“Mr. Muller has been an incredible asset and friend to those in the pork industry, as well as agriculture,” SDPPC said in a release. “We wish Glenn all the best as he transitions into his well-earned retirement. We, as well as the rest of the agricultural industry, extend our heartfelt thanks for all his years of service.”

The Search Begins
SDPPC announced the search is open to fill the position Muller has held for the past 15 years. This role serves as the chief administrative officer of the organization, providing strategic leadership, advancing producer priorities, and guiding the council’s mission to support and promote South Dakota’s pork industry.

The executive director is responsible for organizational management, industry relations, policy engagement, producer outreach, and the oversight of key programs that strengthen the state’s pork sector. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, exceptional communication skills, and a deep commitment to serving South Dakota’s pork producers. Salary and compensation will be based on experience.

SDPPC invites interested and qualified candidates to submit a résumé, cover letter, and three to five references from various facets of the industry to gmuller@sdppc.org. Applications will be accepted until Feb. 15.
