Planes…trains…automobiles…
Orlando, Fla., might seem far away, but there are many affordable ways to get to United Pork Americas (UPA) Sept. 7-9, 2022. With airline prices and gas prices, it can seem daunting to travel, but there are ways to make it affordable.
1. Discount airlines like Allegiant or Spirit can get you to your destination without breaking the bank. Just make sure to check out the add-on charges to make sure nothing is surprising. As of June 23, these are the Allegiant options from a few popular locations:
Mon. 9/5 – Fri. 9/9
Indianapolis to Sanford, Fla. (which is about 40 min. drive to hotel) $245
DSM to Sanford (SFB) $166
Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Sanford (SFB) $165
Rockford, Ill. to Sanford (SFB) $219
2. Get a group to ride together. Meet somewhere centrally and split the fuel costs with others.
3. Come to UPA and stay for a family trip. Visit Walt Disney World, Universal Studios or Sea World with your family to maximize the budget.
4. Find ways to do additional business on the way there or while there. Meet with people. Look at pigs. Buy equipment. Two birds with one stone.
5. Take a train or bus. Sit back and enjoy the ride. Do business or read a book on the way.
Don’t miss the Early Bird registration deadline July 11 to save on UPA. Register at www.unitedporkamericas.com. Book your hotel room by Aug. 8 to be included in the room block and save.
