The U.S. pork production system is one of the most efficient, productive, highest quality, secure and efficacious systems in the world. The Americas are positioned for incredible growth, technology adoption, export dominance and quality, health and safety advancements.
“These times call for a different and unprecedented venue for global thought leadership. Gaining scholarship from globally recognized subject matter experts to help navigate the most critical issues defining the future advancements of the global pork industry is vital,” says Cliff Becker, Farm Journal executive vice president.
That’s why Farm Journal committed to launch a new, world-class event – United Pork Americas – to serve as a springboard for thoughtful discussion of future advancements, opportunities and economies of the global pork food system.
After much consideration, United Pork Americas is moving its date to Sept. 7-9 due to factors impacting global travel, production unit staffing concerns related to COVID-19, monitoring other livestock events during Q1 and conversations with producers, company representatives and associations in the swine industry.
“United Pork Americas takes the stage at one of the most crucial times in our pork industry’s evolution. Never has a more intense understanding – and translation – of the world’s pork systems infrastructure been more critical,” says Flavia Roppa, CEO and president of United Pork Americas.
Register Now
Registration for the live event on Sept. 7-9 in Orlando, Fla., is open at unitedporkamericas.com.
“The line-up of speakers for United Pork Americas includes experts and leaders from all over the world and will offer unique insights into the future,” says Farm Journal’s PORK editor Jennifer Shike. “There are so many similarities and unique differences among pork producers around the world. We want to create an opportunity for producers to build on those synergies.”
That’s one of the things Gustavo Pizarro, president of Pipestone Latin America, enjoys most about working in both North America and South America. In his session, “Building a Network Between North, Central and South American Swine Industries,” he will share how pork production systems in various parts of the world can learn from each other.
“We have business operations in the United States, China, Mexico and recently some activity in Brazil,” says Pizarro, president of Pipestone Latin America. “It’s interesting to me how our mission as a company – helping farmers – fits so well with this conference bringing producers from different countries together. I think this is a great opportunity to share our experience and learn how we can work together to improve production, performance and business.”
Thought Leadership Symposiums
Building up to the live event, Farm Journal’s PORK will host two online Thought Leadership Symposiums. The first is “Agroterrorism Threats to the Pork Food System” and the second is “Global Markets: Americas’ Opportunity for Future Advancement.” The proceedings will be published following the live event. More information will be available soon.
