Alltech launches human health company Acutia
Alltech is applying its more than 40 years of scientific innovation and proven nutrition expertise to human health. Acutia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Alltech, was launched in late March and combines science and sustainability to provide high-quality supplements that enhance everyday nutrition and improve long-term wellness.

“This is an exciting and pivotal moment in Alltech’s long history of improving nutrient value throughout the food supply chain,” said Mark Lyons, president and CEO of Alltech, in a release. “Acutia is a natural extension of our business, allowing us to directly support people in their pursuit of improved wellness. In a time when we are all deeply aware of the importance of our health, this launch is particularly meaningful.”

Acutia’s initial line of products will be rolled out in phases, beginning with Acutia Selenium, then Acutia Brain Health, followed by Acutia Digestive Health. Acutia’s focus on sustainable wellness extends to its unique packaging and refill system. Upon their first order, customers receive a starter kit, which is packaged in a recyclable box and includes a reusable glass storage jar and a travel container. Subsequent orders are provided in compostable refill packs. To offset carbon emissions from shipping, Acutia partners with Nori to support farming practices that sequester CO2 from the atmosphere.

Acutia represents the continuation of a legacy of innovation that was established by Pearse Lyons, the late founder of Alltech and father of Mark Lyons.

“It is incredible to see my father’s vision come to fruition,” said Lyons. “We carry forward his legacy of innovation and his entrepreneurial spirit by connecting science, sustainability and wellness. This is a significant moment for us as we continue Working Together for a Planet of PlentyTM.”

Zinpro Celebrates 50th Anniversary with a Bold Rebrand
Zinpro Corporation is commemorating its 50th year of business with a bold rebrand that represents its passion and commitment for the future: Advancing Performance Together.

“For the past 50 years, customers have relied on Zinpro to continually develop trace mineral products to help improve animal health and performance,” said Rob Sheffer, president and CEO of Zinpro, in a release. “With a new brand identity that reflects our comprehensive, solutions-based approach, Zinpro is determined to remain the industry leader for the next 50 years. We are a performance company working side-by-side with our customers and partners to achieve better outcomes for animals and people.”

In celebration of this anniversary milestone, Zinpro revealed its new brand identity and website to introduce this bolder approach to animal nutrition solutions. Zinpro’s team of experts helps producers with everyday animal health challenges including lameness prevention and inflammation management, while improving lifetime performance and productivity. And now, Zinpro is bringing this same approach to trace mineral nutrition for people through Mend + Defend, its line of premium nutritional supplements designed for people looking for gut health and immunity solutions.

A key differentiator, Zinpro’s performance minerals utilize a unique pathway for absorption – the amino acid transporter – allowing for exceptional uptake. This discovery – and subsequent peer-reviewed research across species – was foundational to the company’s hard-fought success and continues to create new, innovative solutions.

CTB Initiates Multi-Phase Campus Upgrade Project
CTB, Inc. is planning to begin significant improvements at its headquarters manufacturing and office campus in Milford, Ind., according to Victor A. Mancinelli, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer for CTB, in a company release.

The company plans to invest approximately $20 million to renovate approximately 38,000 square feet (3,500 square meters) of its existing Chore-Time facility on the east side of State Road 15, north of Milford. Demolition of a portion of the structure is slated to begin after May 1 and new construction is set to be underway by late August. The new facility is expected to be operational by the end of 2022.

The largest part of the project involves an expansion and upgrading of the company’s existing conference and communications center. The conference center serves CTB’s Chore-Time, Brock and PigTek divisions based in Milford and will enable the company to better host large employee and corporate meetings as well as distributor network conferences and training events.

“This renovation project will add significant improvements to the CTB Milford campus for our employees and business operations,” Mancinelli explained. “Many of these building improvements and equipment upgrades have been designed around helping CTB to attract and retain the employee talent we need to achieve our goals as a company.”

Beth Cripe, CTB Project Manager, pointed out that the updated conference and training center space will better accommodate events of up to 400 people and uses the latest in presentation technology and in-person meeting guidelines. The new space replaces a 25-year-old facility designed to hold 300. The area being revitalized also includes a part of the Chore-Time office and manufacturing facility that dates to the early years of the company. The new communications portion of the center will contain state-of-the-art corporate information technology (IT) training areas and workplaces along with corporate advertising and communications offices.

Evonik launches AMINODat® 6.0 Feed Raw Material Database with New Features
Evonik’s AMINODat® 6.0 is a database for feed raw materials that can be updated in real-time and formulated with even greater precision, according to a company release.

“If we want to feed farm animals healthily, in an efficient way and at the same time conserve natural resources, we have to know the feed raw materials being used very well,” said Emmanuel Auer, head of the Animal Nutrition business line at Evonik, in a company release.

Evonik Animal Nutrition has been conducting raw material analyses for decades and supports its customers with the processed data. These data were previously consolidated and made available every five years in printed form and as an interactive software. With AMINODat® 6.0, they are now available in shorter intervals as a web application. The analyses are based on raw material samples that Evonik receives from customers all over the world. AMINODat® 6.0 comprises more than 900,000 analytical results from over 18,000 samples of more than 500 raw materials.

In addition to the amino acid and proximate content of raw materials, AMINODat® 6.0 provides a complete set of amino acid digestibility coefficients which had been updated and extended by Evonik’s experts, fatty acid profiles of raw materials as a new feature, quality parameters like antinutritional factors, protein solubility and content of reactive Lysine which indicate the degree of heat processing, biogenic amines, which play an important role in the evaluation of animal byproducts and silages, and the latest revised amino acid recommendations for poultry, swine and aqua, the company said in a release.
