Rare John Deere 700A Tractor For Sale at Auction Wednesday
I've only seen one sold at auction the past 17 years.
I'm talking about John Deere 700A yellow tractors, the industrial version of the Deere 5020. The only one I saw was seven years ago, back on an August 14, 2010 farm auction in Starbuck, MN and sold for $5,800. It has been overhauled and had Firestone 24.5-32 tires at 90%.
Another John Deere 700A tractor is coming up for sale this Wednesday, May 3, 2017, on a Purplewave.com online auction. The seller is from Lawrence, KS and the meter shows 1,976 hours. Here's a picture of it:
I reached out to my friend at Purplewave.com, Ag Industry Specialist Patrick Crouch. Here's the history Patrick relayed on this rare John Deere 700A:
"The owner is an individual/construction contractor and used to pull a disk, sheepsfoot roller and straw blower," said Crouch. "He has owned it since 1992 with very little use. He bought it at auction from Douglas County Kansas which had used it as a boom mower tractor and to pull a sheepsfoot roller. It was verified by the 2 cylinder registry that it was sold in Great Bend, KS new and not verifiable if Douglas County bought it new or used. That's the story that I heard from the seller."
Current online bid on it, as of Saturday night 7:30 PM CST, stand at $3,300. How high do you think it will go? Stay tuned. Here is a direct link to the John Deere 700A online listing: https://www.purplewave.com/auction/170503/item/DA8047
