From operational trials to rebranding and merging companies, the pork and agriculture industries have recent news worth sharing. Here’s a look at Nutreco’s Selko brand, EnBiorganic Technologies wastewater treatment trial results and the merger of KCoe Isom, doing business as Pinion, and Anderson ZurMuehlen.
Micronutrients Becomes Selko, Nutreco’s Specialty Feed Additive Global Brand
Micronutrients, Nutreco’s U.S.-based feed additive company, is rebranding as Selko, effective Jan. 2023, streamlining the specialty feed additive portfolio, including IntelliBond trace minerals under a single global brand.
Investing to become the market leader in phytogenics and innovation leader of specialty feed additives, Selko will continue to target the market’s existing and emerging needs, the release says.
“Including U.S.-manufactured products in the global Selko portfolio will create a more streamlined approach in an increasingly global business landscape, while positioning us to accelerate innovations in animal nutrition,” says Remco Van Reenen, Nutreco’s managing director of the feed additives business unit.
Selko will serve as Netreco’s sole feed additives brand around the globe.
EnBiorganic Technologies Releases Patent-Pending Wastewater Treatment Pilot Results
EnBiorganic Technologies (EBT) releases findings after a hands-on, operational trial of its autonomous wastewater treatment system at a family operated swine and row-crop farm in West Liberty, Iowa.
The system, called EBS-Di, aims to provide sustainable and safe elimination of water contamination risks, fines related to manure storage, odors and toxic gases, as well as improving crop yields, the release says. The objectives of the trial were to determine feasibility of integrating and operating an EBS-Di system on-site at a swine barn, operational benefits obtained by processing the manure in real time and application of processed manure to benefit crop production both ecologically and economically.
The trial showed encouraging results in relation to the objectives, including a reduction in total solids in the treated pit, as well as increased crop yields. The full pilot details and results can be found here.
