Lit’l Smokies lovers, look in.
Kasey Bailey and her fiancé Mike have made Hillshire Farm Lit’l Smokies a tradition at special occasions and planned to serve the cocktail sausages at their upcoming wedding reception.
Bailey sent a letter to Hillshire Brands Co. about the couple’s love for Lit’l Smokies and plan to incorporate them into their reception.
The Tyson-owned brand’s response was beyond expectation. The company sent the couple a custom, four-tiered Lit’l Smokies cocktail cake for their celebration.
The cake stood over 18 inches high and took 16 hours to make and assemble, EatThis.com reports. The company partnered with local pastry chef Niki Stricker of The Pie wHole to make the massive cake. The wedding theme centered around sunflowers was not lost in the cake, a detail integrated into the design.
“I never expected Hillshire Farm brand to gift us an amazing Lit’l Smokies Sausage Cocktail Cake! It made the day even more memorable for us…and tasty for our guests,” Kasey said on EatThis.com.
The couple, who live outside of Grand Rapids, Mich., also received a generous gift of a year’s supply of Lit’l Smokies to enjoy as newlyweds, the company said in a release.
