The 46th-annual National Swine Improvement Federation (NSIF) conference will be held in person on Nov. 30-Dec. 2 in St. Louis, Mo., at the Marriott St. Louis Grand.

This year's conference will be held alongside the Poultry Breeder's Roundtable.

The organization's goal is to advance and improve the swine industry. In 1974, a group of test station managers, supervisors and extension swine personnel joined together to standardize test station programs. A year later, this organization formalized as NSIF and has since become internationally known as one of the leading bodies in developing and applying scientifically based programs for the genetic improvement of swine.

Highlighted speakers at this year's event include Raf Beeren, chief operating officer at Hendrix Genetics, on "Cross Specie Genetic Systems - Benefits and Challenges"; Juan Steibel, associate professor in the Department of Fisheries and Wildlife at Michigan State University, on "Automatic Phenotyping for Precision Swine Management and Breeding"; and Kara Stewart, associate professor of animal sciences at Purdue University, on "Pre-weaning Mortality - Opportunity for Impact."

In addition to leading speakers on hot topics in genetics, attendees can look forward to great networking opportunities, graduate lightning talks and more.
