Colorado Pork Producers Announce Annual Meeting

The annual meeting of the Colorado Pork Producers Council will take place Feb. 21 at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Brush, Colo. Here’s what attendees can expect.

The annual meeting of the Colorado Pork Producers Council will take place Feb. 21 at the Morgan County Fairgrounds in Brush, Colo. All pork producers, veterinarians, Extension Agents, leaders who work with swine projects, students, educators, youth and other allied members and interested parties are invited to attend this event, the council said in a release.

This year’s meeting will highlight resources to help producers with reproductive success on farms. In addition, Colorado Pork Producers Council leaders will provide updates and discuss industry challenges in the coming year.

In addition, the Colorado State Vets office, National Pork Board, National Pork Producers Council and U.S. Meat Export Federation will be updating industry leaders on challenges, successes and outlooks on the year ahead.

Youth and those involved in working with young swine producers are encouraged to attend a discussion with participants in the state pork production cost share program who will present their project’s successes and challenges.

An election of members for the Colorado Pork Producers Council board of directors will be held as well. Anyone interested in running for the board who is a current pork producer within the state of Colorado is asked to contact the Colorado Pork Producers Council office for information at 970-356-4964.

The election of Pork Act Delegates for the 2023 Pork Forum will also be conducted. Proof of payment of checkoff fees is required to run and vote in this election. An RSVP is requested by Feb. 19.
