Will TPP end up in 'lame duck' session?
An article at World Net Daily by Jerome R. Corsi suggests the Obama administration may be "betting on a stealth plan" to secure passage of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) before Obama leaves office.
"Tactically, the Obama administration has decided to postpone a TPP vote until after the election, concerned that pushing TPP passage now would risk damaging (Hillary) Clinton's chances," Corsi writes.
Clinton has flip-flopped on TPP, opposing it in recent statements and Donald Trump openly opposes the bill.
Corsi writes that the "push to pass TPP is consistent with a
published Sunday by Mark Landler in his 'White House Letter.'"
The article stated that last week, in a
in Washington, U.S. Trade Representative Michael Froman said he was finding a "very receptive" audience on Capitol Hill and, despite the legislation being opposed the presidential candidate political parties, he is feeling "very confident" he will have the votes to pass TPP during the post-election lame duck session.
