Veterinary Pharmaceutical Solutions (VPS), a market leader in livestock pharmacy compounding, announced its groundbreaking for a pharmacy expansion, which took place Aug. 1 in St. Peter, Minn., according to a release.
“The pharmacy expansion will create opportunities for VPS to continue leading the animal health industry through pharmaceutical innovation and research,” says Dean Warras, Chief Executive Officer of VPS. “This expansion will enable us to elevate our operations and respond faster with solutions for our veterinarian and producer customers.”
The expansion will nearly double the size for the facility that VPS operates in and will comply with FDA regulations as well as regulations at the national level and all state Boards of Pharmacy where they operate. The expansion will create space to expand R&D, compound new products, install new equipment and allow for complete segregation of customized medicines where needed.

Animal drug compounding is the process of combining, mixing, or altering the form of a drug to create a medication tailored to the needs of an individual animal or small group of animals. All formulations are compounded with FDA-approved finished dosage forms and over 25 years of strict quality standards to ensure that medications are consistent in formulation.
