As the farm economy continues to struggle, farmers continue to consider suicide as a means to solve their financial woes. Thanks to suicide prevention help from NYFarmNet, a leading farm support group, the farmer did not commit suicide. Instead he filed bankruptcy and shifted his business model to produce organic milk instead of conventional milk.
