Casey Westphalen Named Chief Financial Officer and Business Analyst at Kerns and Associates
Kerns and Associates is pleased to welcome Casey Westphalen as chief financial officer and business analyst. As of September 1, Westphalen will be charged with building two areas of the business: 1) Secure Kerns and Associates’ financial functions; and 2) Work with the Kerns team as they create models to align client financial and operational performance with risk management behaviors, specifically decision-making and execution.

The team will utilize Westphalen’s expertise for continued development of economic, cost of production and farm models that will be integrated into a web-based portal.

Westphalen obtained her undergraduate degree in Accounting from Buena Vista University and her MBA in Accounting from Upper Iowa University. For the last ten years, she has worked with NutriQuest Business Solutions, providing CFO services to the swine, beef, dairy and grain industries.

Prior to working for NutriQuest, Westphalen was the CFO of a 6,000-head dairy operation and several row-crop-farming enterprises (both within the U.S. and in Brazil). Her career has focused on building financial and operational knowledge in support livestock and grain producers through the deployment of tools for financial planning, monitoring and benchmarking.

In her new role, she will continue to be an influential contributor to Kerns and Associates’ business, clients, and within the pork industry.

Vicki Corbett Celebrates 40 Years at Osborne
Osborne Industries, Inc., announces a new milestone has been reached by long-time employee, Vicki Corbett of Osborne, Kan. Corbett celebrated her 40-year employment anniversary last month.

George Eakin, President and CEO of Osborne, noted in a news release, “To many of our customers, Vicki is Osborne. Over her 40-year history with the company, she has cultivated and maintained excellent relationships with our many customers all over the world.”

Corbett first began with Osborne in 1978, as the receptionist, before transitioning to customer service and management roles over the years. She also has served on the Board of Directors since 2011.

The company said Corbett has played a vital role in the expansion of Osborne’s export business, which started with its first overseas shipment to Japan in 1979. Osborne has exported products to over 40 countries worldwide and was the recipient of the prestigious Kansas Exporter of the Year award in 2010. She will continue to assist in Osborne’s export business, a division that constitutes nearly 30% of total company sales.

A native of rural Esbon, Kan., Corbett resides in Osborne with her husband, Brad. Together they have four children and seven grandchildren.

Ilya Frumkin to Lead Diamond V’s Growing Companion Animal Business
Diamond V recently welcomed Ilya Frumkin as director of companion animal business development.

In this new role, he will lead the development and execution of the company’s companion animal business strategy in North America, Diamond V said in a news release.

Frumkin is a Chicago native where he earned his BS with honors in Marketing from DePaul University. Prior to joining Diamond V, he worked as Vice President of Marketing for Three Dog Bakery, a manufacturer of natural dog treat products and Vice President of Commercial Operations for Abaxis, Inc., a manufacturer of veterinary diagnostic equipment.

Frumkin brings more than 20 years of experience in strategic marketing, sales, and product management to the position, having held various executive marketing positions including as Senior Product Manager for Colgate-Palmolive, managing new product launches, promotion and overall business for Hill’s Science Diet Dog and Cat product lines.
