Coverage of the Dept. of Justice Hearing

About 1,300 people registered, with more expected to show up unannounced, for today’s USDA/Department of Justice hearing on competition in agriculture and the focus is on livestock. Both sides of the issue are making their pleas.

R-CALF made a push to get their supporters to this hearing, and best guesstimate is 500 attended the public forum last night. Economists and representative producers from the National Pork Producers Council and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association also met last night to hold a press briefing.
