China is Outlier in Pork Production, Watch for Demand Slow Down

The pork market has seen impressive demand in 2017, and it could continue if China helps, according to Craig Van Dyke of Top Third Ag Marketing.

“When we look at competing proteins, beef is starting to take off, so the pork market definitely could find some market share moving into grilling season,” said Van Dyke. “We don’t typically see cash rally as fast as it has right now without there being some behind the scenes. In my opinion, that’s likely demand because we know supply is ample.”
