Bob Evans Farms has recalled about 4,200 pounds of raw pork sausage that may be contaminated with extraneous materials, specifically thin blue rubber, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced.

The product was produced on December 17, 2020 and was sold in 1-lb. chubs with a lot code of 0352 and a “USE/FRZ BY” date of Jan 31, 2021 on the label. The affected product also has an establishment number “EST. 6875” directly above the use/freeze by date.

The sausage was sold in retail locations in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.

Consumers that have these products in their refrigerator or freezer should not consume them, FSIS reports. It should be thrown away or returned to the place it was purchased. The problem was discovered after Bob Evans received customer complaints and reported them to FSIS.
