The Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA) is making a big change in 2026. The former Illinois Pork Expo is being reimagined to the Illinois Swine Mixer. This new event will take place on Feb. 17, 2026, at the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in downtown Springfield.

“This gathering moves beyond the traditional trade show model to offer a dynamic, interactive experience focused on connection, collaboration and celebration within the pork industry,” explains Jennifer Tirey, executive director of the Illinois Pork Producers Association.

How is it Different?
The Illinois Pork Producers Association board wanted to take a leap forward in a different direction to spur grassroots networking, business opportunities for producers and encourage stronger participation and collaboration, Tirey explains.

“Say goodbye to 10x10 booths and static displays,” she adds. “Instead, enjoy an afternoon and evening filled with strategic networking opportunities, including dedicated conversation corners for business discussions, social stations for relaxed engagement, and a new format designed to help you move, mingle and make real connection.”

Tirey says vendors want to spend their time networking with current and prospective clients and this new approach gives them the flexibility to do so during a more open format that encourages conversation corners after the annual meeting.

“Producers want to learn about industry trends,” she explains. “Our goal is to have several strong keynote speakers strategically scheduled at key points during the day to address current issues.”

A Look at the Schedule
Tirey says the schedule will be much simpler and provide more opportunities for strategic networking. Her team will incorporate the new Taste What Pork Can Do campaign during the evening reception, offering four corners where guests can enjoy different culinary adventures.

Here’s how the schedule will break down:

• 1:00 PM: Delegate Check-in
• 1:30 PM: Annual Meeting & Delegate Session
• 4:00 PM: Featured Speaker
• 4:30 PM: Business & Social Networking with Drinks & Light Appetizers
• 6:00 PM: Dinner, Auction, & Legislative Mixer

Why This Event is For You
Registration will open later this year. Tirey encourages producers to attend to build and strengthen industry relationships and network with peers, policy makers and partners.

“Celebrate Illinois pork production achievements,” she adds. Take the leap with us—toward progress, partnership, and the future of pork in Illinois.”

Sponsors have new opportunities, too.

Tirey says, “With the launch of the Illinois Swine Mixer, IPPA is introducing revamped sponsorship options. In addition to event-specific support, businesses can now opt for annual sponsorships, maximizing exposure throughout the year at multiple IPPA events and programs.”
