Carthage Veterinary Service, Ltd. (CVS) announced the completion of the inaugural class of Carthage Emerging Leaders Group. Two years ago, CVS embarked on a unique training opportunity, the “Emerging Leaders Program,” in an effort to help develop the next generation of leaders.

Selected applicants were invited to be a part of a peer group for a combination of technical and leadership training conducted by industry experts, CVS said in a release. In addition to the formal classroom style training, they received updates on “hot topics” as well as the informal learning that comes from social networking.

“This type of learning environment allowed the group to increase production knowledge, foster friendships and create leadership skills that are applicable in their day-to-day operations,” CVS said.

Industry partners were key to the success of the program, with all six modules sponsored by leaders in the swine industry. Topics included: new facility construction/maintenance, managing health in an integrated production system, managing production operations and cost of production and working on your business versus working in your business.

Applications for the 2022-23 class will be accepted through Dec. 15. More details are available here.
