It’s been a challenging year for the agriculture and food industry. The pandemic has a long-lasting impact on managing talent, and the return to the “normal” workplace environment will pose new challenges, as well as opportunities, AgCareers.com said in a release. While many of these challenges are common across industries, several trends will be particularly relevant to human resource management in the agriculture and food industry. These topics and more will highlight the North American Ag & Food HR Roundtable.
The North American Agriculture & Food HR Roundtable returns virtually the mornings of August 3 and 4. Now in its 19th year, AgCareers.com’s premier event will feature valuable educational content, along with creative virtual ways to network with human resource professionals, recruitment specialists, managers, leaders, college career services and faculty, and industry association representatives, the organization said.
“We are entering new times within the agriculture & food industry and the careers available reflect that. This event allows participants to learn from innovators, exchange ideas, and network to share thoughts around current day and future talent solutions,” Kathryn Doan, director of AgCareers.com said.
The HR Roundtable will provide relevant content, examining recruitment and retention specifically within the agriculture and food industry. The 2021 event will consist of two half-day programs filled with educational, entertaining content and networking opportunities. Registration provides access to eight sessions essential to the agri-food industry and people management best practices.
Networking is a vital component of the traditional Roundtable Conference, event organizers said in a release. Participants in this year’s virtual event will choose a networking breakout table topic each day to dive deeper and network with fellow attendee to tackle some of the industry’s tough issues. There also is an optional virtual “Happy Hour” to further network—a chance to chat with fellow participants. Participants may earn continuing education through SHRM and HRCI. AgCareers.com hopes to return to an in-person Agriculture & Food HR Roundtable in 2022 in time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of this event.
