USDA releasing its Quarterly Hogs and Pigs report. It shows the national hog herd is at 74.3 million head, a 2 percent increase from a year ago.
However, the number is a decrease from December. Breeding inventory is up from both December and a year ago while market hogs are up from last year but dipped from last quarter.
Some analysts say there are signs of a slow-down after years of expansion.
Allendale Incorporated chief strategist Rich Nelson weighs in on the report.
