A double-decker semi hauling approximately 160 pigs flipped over on Dec. 14 in the western part of Branch County, Mich., according to WTVB News. The semi was on its way to Clemens Food Group.

The crash happened at 9:50 a.m. in the area of M-86 and Culver Road in Matteson Township, Mich., the article said. Although the driver did not suffer any serious injuries, some pigs did not survive the crash.

A large wrecker was called in to remove the semi, the reports noted. A livestock trailer was also brought in to haul away surviving animals.

At the scene were the Branch County Sheriff’s Department along with the Bronson Fire Department, the Michigan Department of Transportation and representatives from the Clemens Food Group.
