dsm-firmenich Launches GutServ Biotix Postbiotic Solution
dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health has announced the launch of GutServ Biotix, an innovative postbiotic solution designed to support piglet health, resilience and performance, the company said in a release.
“Maintaining piglet health and performance is one of the biggest challenges in modern pig production, especially during critical stress periods such as weaning,” the company said. “Strengthening gut integrity and functionality, GutServ Biotix helps minimize early-life setbacks and allows piglets to thrive efficiently and establish a solid foundation for healthy growth and sustained performance.”
Through scientific validation and multiple trials across geographies, GutServ Biotix empowers producers to build stronger pigs from the gut up—confidently and consistently, with a proven return on investment ranging from 5:1 to 10:1.
GutServ Biotix’s is compatible with all feed types and processing conditions, the company said, making it a flexible solution for modern operations. The formulation is heat-tolerant, stable, and easy to handle, ensuring seamless integration into existing workflows.
Philippe Tacon, global product manager microbials at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health, says, “GutServ Biotix works through four synergistic actions that directly support gut health and immune performance. Whether piglets are under stress from weaning, dietary shifts or environmental challenges, our solution helps sustain performance by reinforcing gut functionalities and supports a balanced microbiome. GutServ Biotix is a testament to our commitment to help the swine industry increase productivity, improve welfare, reduce environmental impact and enhance product quality.”
The company explains that this postbiotic solution can help producers move from reactive management to proactive care, building stronger pigs from the gut up.
Novus Announces Business Realignment
Novus International, Inc., recently announced a strategic business realignment designed to accelerate innovation, strengthen operational agility, and unlock long-term value for its global customer base. The transformation will result in two separate business units under the NOVUS umbrella - one dedicated to liquid methionine solutions and the other focused exclusively on specialty feed ingredients, the company shared in a release.
This new structure reflects NOVUS’s continued evolution as a science-driven, customer-focused company committed to helping producers achieve more. Both units will be structured as separate platforms, each with dedicated profit and loss accountability and the autonomy to focus on their core capabilities.
NOVUS CEO Dan Meagher will continue to lead the parent organization and provide strategic oversight across both businesses.
“Each unit now has the clarity and freedom to innovate faster, respond smarter, and continue delivering solutions that meet the evolving needs of producers around the world,” Meagher said. “This is a bold, forward-thinking step that allows us to go further in our commitment to deliver value for our customers, our teams, and our partners.”
Dave Dowell has been appointed president of the Methionine Business Unit, while Ed Galo will lead the Specialty Business Unit as president.
NOVUS has long been recognized for pioneering advancements in liquid methionine technology and for its leadership in specialty nutrition through intelligent feed solutions. The formation of these focused business units reinforces this leadership and unlocks new potential to scale innovations globally.
Both business units will maintain uninterrupted global service for dairy, poultry and swine producers. Customers can continue to expect the same levels of excellence, innovation, and integrity that have defined NOVUS for more than 30 years, the company said.
