NPPC Adds Two Staffers to Washington, D.C. Office
The National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) has added two staff members to its Washington, D.C. office, according to a release from the group.
Jack Frye is the manager of congressional relations, joining Andrew Fisher as NPPC’s two lead Capitol Hill lobbyists. He most recently managed the National Restaurant Association's federal and state political advocacy programs and previously worked on Capitol Hill for Reps. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.) and Ron Kind (D-Wis.).
Jack Detiveaux has joined as manager of competition, labor and tax. He most recently was senior manager of legislative affairs for the National Association of Chemical Distributors and previously was senior manager of government relations for the American Bakers Association.
Former U.S. Ambassador Gregg Doud Joins Aimpoint Research
Aimpoint Research has announced that former U.S. Ambassador Gregg Doud has been named vice president of global situational awareness and chief economist. Doud most recently served as chief agricultural negotiator in the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative and is one of the primary architects of the U.S.-China "Phase One" trade agreement, a release from the company said.
Aimpoint Research specializes in providing superior intelligence to the agri-food value chain and Doud brings an unparalleled global perspective and economic expertise to the team. He will work closely with members of the Executive Intelligence Network (EIN) and play a major role as the organization tackles its thought leadership priorities, including Farmer of the Future, Next Gen Consumer, Mobility of the Future, and more.

Prior to his role with the U.S. Trade Representative, Doud served as president of the Commodity Markets Council, the leading trade association for commodity futures exchanges and their industry counterparts, where he worked to lead the industry in addressing global market and risk management issues.
As a senior staff member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Doud helped craft the 2012 Senate Farm Bill working on international trade, food aid, livestock and oversight of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. He also served as chief economist for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association for eight years and is a former market analyst for the U.S. Wheat Associates, the release said.
Steilen Joins Lallemand Animal Nutrition as Marketing Director
Lallemand Animal Nutrition announces Mike Steilen has joined the North American marketing team, which supports the company’s prominent microbial solutions such as MAGNIVA® Forage Inoculants and LEVUCELL® SC, a release said.
“Microbial solutions, like prebiotics and probiotics, are gaining widespread adoption in livestock and companion animals. We are well positioned as a primary producer and major supplier of silage inoculants, probiotics and yeast derivatives across all continents,” said Jeff Ast, Commercial Director, Lallemand Animal Nutrition, North and South America, in a release. “Mike’s marketing experience will be critical as we continue to show livestock producers and pet owners how our products and services can help their businesses and animals.”
Steilen brings decades of animal health experience to his role. He most recently served as marketing director for Newport Laboratories, a Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health company. In addition, he has experience marketing analytical devices for both biotechnology and human medicine. Steilen holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and microbiology in addition to a master’s of business administration degree, both from Iowa State University, the release noted.
Mark Cullen joins The Equity as Senior Vice President of Feed & Livestock
The Equity welcomes Mark Cullen as the senior vice president of feed and livestock. Cullen will be managing the feed manufacturing and logistics as well as the Equity Elite feed brand, a release said. He will also oversee The Equity's Swine Producer Partnerships and The Equity Farm & Home Store, which sells all of The Equity's bagged feed. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a bachelor’s degree in agricultural business and is currently obtaining his Executive MBA from Iowa State University. Cullen was most recently the executive vice president of Animal Nutrition at Landus Cooperative. He is a committee member on the National Feed and Grain Association’s Feed Regulatory Committee, a member of the Iowa State Executive MBA Program Advisory Council and is active with the U.S. Soybean Export Council.
