Kyle Alexander Jr. has been named the 2023 Employee Spotlight of the Year by the Illinois Pork Producers Association (IPPA).
Alexander, along his wife, Christina, and their children, Kylee and Brayden, live in Lincoln, Ill. Alexander, as well as both of his parents, is a veteran of the U.S. Army. After serving his country, Kyle was looking for a local opportunity. He met Ben Conrady of Tri Pork Inc., while assisting another local farmer and has been with Tri Pork Inc. ever since.
“Kyle’s commitment to Tri Pork Inc., which spans two decades, is a virtue that most today do not possess. We feel very fortunate for the knowledge and ability that Kyle has applied and his ability to car for animals and the people he works with,” says David Conrady, owner of Tri Pork Inc.
Alexander enjoys the comradery at the farm as well as the opportunity to care for animals and find solutions to the the challenges they present. He appreciates the ability to make his own schedule for the day after primary tasks have been completed.
“Labor is a challenge that effects all facets of the supply chain and at Tri Pork Inc., we are no different. The pigs are the easy part of the day!” Alexander says.
He adds the biggest reward is knowing that what he does on the farm holds a greater purpose and is helping feed not only his family but families across the globe.
Alexander will receive recognition at the 2023 Illinois Pork Expo and a monetary gift certificate in appreciation for all his hard work. IPPA credits Boehringer Ingelheim for making this program possible and showing gratitude to the pork industry through their generous contributions.
“IPPA started this program to combat the labor shortage and show appreciation to hardworking employees, like Dan,” the organization said in a release. “IPPA has highlighted 12 employees from Illinois over the course of the past 12 months. Each employee showcases the industry in their own unique ways, and we are grateful for their dedication.”
