Hogs & Pigs Report: Farrowing Intentions Seen Just Below Year-Ago

But increase in pigs-per-litter rate keeps total hog numbers above year-ago.

Juli says: The report is expected to reflect expansion in the industry despite a slight drop in farrowing intentions thanks to continued efficiencies in the breeding herd. It would take a two percentage point drop in farrowing intentions to offset a one percentage point increase in the pigs-per-litter rate to draw total hog numbers down.
