Amlan Invests in Animal Protein Market in China
A growing market for animal protein in China is motivating poultry and pork producers to rapidly adopt natural technology advancements to meet growing demand while addressing increasing production challenges. Amlan International, a company focused on mineral-based feed additives, is helping producers meet those challenges with the addition of experienced technical professionals and the expansion of its logistics operations throughout the country.

Amlan recently appointed eight sales, marketing and technical employees to its staff in China, the company said in a release. They include Michael Hua, regional technical service manager, and King Zhu, technical service manager.

The company has also invested in expanding the capabilities of its three logistics centers, located strategically within China to meet the increased demand. Amlan established its China subsidiary, Amlan Trading (Shenzhen) Company, Ltd., in 2013 and since added logistic warehouses in Tianjin, northeast China; Shenzhen in the southeast; and Chongqing in the southwest. The supply hubs allow Amlan to quickly adjust to shifting product demands within the country.

The additional team members will provide enhanced knowledge and service for customers across the country. In addition to Hua and Zhu, Amlan also recently added the following to the China team: Teng Yingyun, area sales manager, General South of China; Chen Yazhou, sales manager; Luo Qiong, sales manager; Sissi Fang, senior marketing specialist; Coy Xiao, HR and paralegal manager; and Jane Yang, finance manager.

ITC Reaches Resolution on Methionine Case
The U.S. International Trade Commission made an affirmative vote in connection with the antidumping investigation of imports of Methionine from France.

“Notwithstanding this outcome, Adisseo remains committed to the U.S. market as a consistent and reliable supplier of Methionine hydroxy-analogue,” the company said in a release. “Unfortunately, the extremely restrictive nature of the tariffs on DL Methionine have forced Adisseo to exist this market segment, further limiting choice of suppliers.”

The company said they are very disappointed with this decision. However, the preliminary duties imposed by this investigation have already driven up cost substantially. This has cut into margins for domestic animal protein producers, adding cost to the consumer, too, Adisseo noted in a release.

PitView Solves Problems with Pit and Lagoon Monitoring
Measure pits and lagoons, generate reports, and view historical trends without the use of manpower. The PitView cloud application reduces the risk of a harmful spill or breech of a manure management system, BinMaster said in a release. PitView automates the measuring and reporting of waste levels and allows users to view level information on a phone, tablet or PC. It makes it easier to prepare documentation required by regulators. Monitoring waste volume enables you to proactively optimize fleet requirements and schedule application sites.

Each waste site and sensor location are uniquely named in the software, the company said in a release. Measurement frequency time intervals and alert conditions are programmed for each sensor. If an alarm is triggered, designated staff automatically receive a text or email allowing them to intervene before a breech occurs. Reports can be run on demand for specified date ranges to view trends and comply with local regulations.

PitView uses a weather-tight, non-contact radar level sensor to measure pit and lagoon livestock waste at distances up to 26 feet, the company said. It works reliably in turbulence or foam. A flood-proof IP66/68 enclosure ensures maintenance-free, continuous operation.

Once PitView is installed, no one needs to go down to the pits or out to the lagoon to take a measurement. Monitoring takes place every day of the week, and text or email alerts are sent even when staff is off site. PitView lets you plan application sites and schedule trucks in advance.

“You’ll know how much waste is available, so you can arrange for the equipment and manpower to get the job done,” the company said.

PitView can be added to BinMaster’s FeedView cloud application to allow monitoring in feed bins, pits, and lagoons.
