TechMix Hires Guzman as Swine Product Technical Manager
TechMix announces the addition of Ezequiel Guzman in the role of swine product technical manager. Guzman’s primary role will be to support the TechMix U.S. swine team for each product within the swine product portfolio. Guzman will join field staff on-farm and will also work closely with the TechMix Innovations team—providing input on production challenges and insights on potential novel technologies, the company said in a release.
“He is passionate about leveraging analytics tools, emerging technologies, and behavioral science to catalyze innovation and organizational transformation in the swine industry. However, his greatest mission is being a trusted partner and a true collaborator in solving and meeting customer needs,” the company said.
Guzman has spent the last 15 years working in the U.S. swine industry across the production continuum. He brings direct production as well as research and development expertise drawing from his education and previous positions with Smithfield Foods and Zoetis. In his most recent job, he worked as pork product specialist and then as a continuous improvement program manager.
Nutrition Partners and FarmHouse Launch Ignite
Nutrition Partners and FarmHouse Consultants have launched Ignite – a functional fatty acid and enhanced yeast supplement designed to deliver next-level results for swine production across Canada and key regions of the U.S., the companies said in a release.
Ignite features the latest in bio-based feed technology from CBS Bio Platforms, providing a comprehensive blend of multiple Feed Science Platforms (FSPs) for use in swine.
Farmers are challenged by high feed costs, restrictions on antimicrobials and rising pressure to shift the production toolbox to natural bio-based solutions increasingly favored by the marketplace, the release said. Ignite includes CBS Enhanced Yeast Technology tailored to leverage properties and activities that mitigate threats and optimize key production factors. It also includes CBS Functional Fatty Acids Technology customized to further support the health, well-being and overall performance, the release said. Study results and early commercial data show Ignite improves feed conversion ratio (FCR) and average daily gain (ADG), while also promoting feed intake and gut health (intestinal homeostasis, intestinal development, optimal gut barrier function and more). It also provides immune support and reduction in chronic inflammation, and controls pathogen load while promoting the growth of beneficial bacteria, the release said.
A major initial recommended use for Ignite is delivery to sows, particularly during critical periods such as lactation, the company said.

Topigs Norsvin South Africa Appoints New General Manager
Topigs Norsvin South Africa named Andrew Reeders as its new general manager. Reeders will be responsible for the management of the company’s business activities, supported by Wimpie Odendaal in his new role as senior production manager and Lihandi van Niekerk taking the roll of senior technical manager.
Reeders starts his new position on March 1, and will succeed Stefan Vermaak, who left the company in 2022. Reeders spent the past 11 years building his career at Topigs Norsvin South Africa. Over this period, he held various managerial positions within different departments and was instrumental in the development and growth of the company, Topigs said in a release.
“I am excited about the road ahead and look forward to further contribute to the success of Topigs Norsvin South Africa. It is a privilege to become General Manager of this established market leader in swine genetics.
