There are three exciting new additions to the Allen D. Leman Swine Conference program this year, according to organizers. The conference is scheduled for Sept. 15-18 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre in St. Paul, Minn. Here are some of the new features attendees can look forward to.

A new keynote lecture, created in memory of Dr. Bob Morrison, has been added. This year the Morrison Lectureship will be given by Dr. Brad Freking on Monday at 8:00 a.m.

Also new is the Morrison Swine Innovator Prize, which honors the legacy of Dr. Bob Morrison by inspiring DVM students to pursue work that matters for the swine industry. In doing so, they follow Morrison’s mantra of “Learn. Teach. Have fun.”

This is the second year DVM students will present on clinical cases and problem-solving skills using innovative thinking. These students will compete for the Morrison Swine Innovator Prize.

“Beer and Bacon Conversations” will take place with Dr. Matthew Turner, organizers announce. He will be interviewed by Dr. Marie Culhane on Sunday, Sept. 16, from 5:15–6:15 p.m. in the Penthouse of the InterContinental Hotel. This session substitutes the breakfast conversation series on Monday morning.
