The 12th-annual Iowa Swine Day program is packed with a top-notch group of speakers focusing on important issues facing U.S. pork producers. Mark your calendar to attend this event on Thursday, June 29 in the Scheman Building, Iowa State Center, in Ames, Iowa.

Some of the speakers include Eric Potterat, a performance psychologist with the Los Angeles Dodgers on “Learned Excellence.” Joseph Kerns of Partners for Production Agriculture will address “Understanding the Carbon Market and How it Applies to Your Business,” while Banks Baker of PIC will share on “Genetic Improvements in a Sustainable Food System.” Jack Bobo of The Nature Conservancy will speak on “Can Animal Agriculture Save the Planet?”

The afternoon program features four topic tracks with a total of 16 presentations to select from. The tracks include Sustainable Pork Production, Production Strategies for Foreign Animal Disease and Health, The Future of Pig Farming and Iowa State University Research.

A pre-conference BBQ and social will be held Wednesday, June 28. This event, hosted by AB Vista, TechMix and Lynch Livestock, will be tailored towards student networking, but is open to all conference attendees.
