Four Star Veterinary Service 2022 Pork Industry Conference Registration Open
Trade and biosecurity will highlight the 2022 Pork Industry Conference hosted by Four Star Veterinary Service on Sept. 14 at the Grand Wayne Convention Center in Fort Wayne, Ind. The conference will also address current trends and other challenges facing producers in the pork industry.
Four Star Veterinary Service, a business with 22 veterinarians based in Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina and Iowa, will host the conference featuring question-and-answer breakout sessions with the experts covering economics, nursery/finisher, nutrition, sows and water quality. Speakers include:
Dermot Hayes, Ph.D., professor of economics at Iowa State, will discuss the impact pork trade and the world economy have on the swine industry during the keynote address.
Bret Marsh, D.V.M., Indiana State veterinarian, will cover biosecurity plans for Indiana and surrounding states.
Jason Woodworth, Ph.D., research professor at Kansas State University, will discuss feed biosecurity, vitamins and minerals bioactivity.
Other speakers covering swine industry topics include Mark Knauer, Ph.D., extension swine specialist at North Carolina State University, and Drew Derstein, manager with Deer Stone Ag.
