Margins across the pork complex last week were little changed from the prior week. Pork packer margins improved slightly last week to average an estimated $2.95/head while farrow-to-finish producer margins averaged an estimated $80.53/head.
The W. Corn Belt Negotiated Lean Carcass Value averaged $105.54/cwt. compared to $106.11/cwt. the prior week. Plant utilization remained high at 95% last week with the week’s market hog kill at 2,466,750 head.
