While beef packers saw their margin turn positive, pork packers realized just the opposite with the average pork packer market last week at — $10.28/head with the pork cutout losing nearly $8/cwt to average $112.16/cwt.
At the same time, the Lean Carcass Value averaged $111.52/cwt, a week over week gain of nearly $2/cwt. Farrow to finish margins remained strong averaging an estimated $89 per head last week and double a year earlier.
