Supported by a stronger lean carcass value averaging $99.11/cwt for the week and low feed costs, farrow-to-finish operators continued to see strong returns with margins last week averaging $63/head.
Packers remain near breakeven with the stronger lean carcass value offsetting a stronger Pork Cutout Value.
Last week’s Pork Cutout averaged $104.49/cwt compared to $100.68/cwt the prior week.
