Farrow-to-finish margins continued to slip further last week with Sterling’s estimated margin at $43.46/head compared to $46.88/head a week earlier and $76.68/head a year ago.
Last week, the W. Cornbelt Lean Carcass Value averaged $89.51/cwt. compared to $104.84/cwt. a year ago.
On the packer side, Sterling’s estimated margin was $2.17/head compared to $8.73/head a year ago with the pork cutout averaging $95.03/cwt. last week compared to $114.51/cwt. a year ago.
