Here’s a round-up of headlines in the pork industry.
NOVUS Adds New Sales Manager To Serve U.S. Pork Producers
Nate Snyder has joined the NOVUS team to work with swine producers, feed mills and feed companies across the Midwestern United States and help turn production goals into a reality, the company said in a release.
As swine sales manager at NOVUS, Snyder helps customers implement solutions in all phases of pork production. He says his customers in the Midwest grapple with finding dedicated labor, production costs like raw feed prices, and disease challenges like porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) and porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDv) that cut into profits and lower employee morale, the release said.
“His live production experience and knowledge on the feed production side complements our North America team quite well,” Regional Sales Manager Eric Sanny says in a release. “He also adds expertise in feed milling, which allows him to connect with new customers and current customers differently. Expanding the team’s presence in the U.S. is a key initiative and we’re glad to have Nate be part of reaching our goals.”
Before joining NOVUS, Snyder held a variety of positions throughout the pork industry, including external feed milling manager for JBS USA, grow-finish operations manager with Cargill, business development manager with Lynch Livestock Inc., and national sales manager for ADM.
Hypor to Acquire KCAP Multiplier and Agreement of Sale of Product Through Cornbelt Livestock Services
Hypor is strengthening its presence in the U.S. swine market with strategic acquisition of KC Air Pork LLC (KCAP) breeding stock, the company said in a release. Additionally, Hypor and Cornbelt Livestock Services have partnered to provide nutrition and consulting services.
Hypor, as part of Hendrix Genetics, is set to acquire KCAP, a multiplier underneath the umbrella of Great Plains Management. Great Plains Management offers production management services for both sow farms and swine grow-out facilities. As part of this agreement, Cornbelt Livestock Services will provide nutrition and consulting services for their customer user group.
Matt Hueber, managing partner KC Air Pork LLC, says, “We are extremely excited for the genetic progression that Hypor and Hendrix Genetics will bring and look forward to the further cooperation between our companies. We are looking forward to the prolificacy and durability of the genetics moving forward.”
