Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA Inc. announced the appointment of Jean Claude Chevez, DVM, as the new executive director of the U.S. Swine and Poultry Businesses on March 22.
“Health is always top-of-mind for livestock producers, and I am excited to lead the U.S. Swine and Poultry Businesses as we work to deliver innovative animal health solutions to our customers,” Chevez said in a release.
Chevez, a 20-year veteran of Boehringer Ingelheim, has served as associate director of the Animal Health Business for Central America and the Caribbean, leading the Pets and Livestock Businesses, since 2020. Previously, he led the company’s Swine and Avian Businesses in Mexico and has held several technical roles across livestock species, the company said in a release.
“Jean Claude’s long tenure in both the swine and poultry industries provides him a unique understanding of the needs of producers and veterinarians and how Boehringer Ingelheim can best support their efforts to optimize animal health and performance,” Steve Boren, vice president of Livestock and Equine at Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA Inc., said in a release. “I am confident that this perspective – along with Jean Claude’s background as a veterinarian and experience in the global industry – will be beneficial as we continue our commitment to enhancing swine and poultry health.”
After earning his degree in veterinary medicine from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), Chevez worked as a production manager in both the swine and poultry industries prior to joining Boehringer Ingelheim.
