dsm-firmenich has unveiled Noviwest and Panavora as the two standalone companies that will emerge from the planned sale of its Animal Nutrition & Health business to CVC Capital Partners. Under the agreement, CVC will acquire majority control, while dsm-firmenich will retain a 20% stake in each business.

Announcing Noviwest

Noviwest builds on a century of expertise in vitamins, carotenoids and aroma ingredients. By maintaining a large manufacturing footprint for vitamins in Europe, the company aims to safeguard global supply security across the food, feed, fragrance and pharmaceutical sectors.

“Noviwest represents a new beginning built on decades of expertise and innovation,” Silvia Sonneveld, head of the Vitamins Unit at dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health, and designated CEO of Noviwest, said in a release. “Our talented team remains fully committed to deliver high-quality vitamins, carotenoids and aroma ingredients to customers around the world. At a time when resilience and supply security are critical, we believe a strong European manufacturing base for essential vitamins plays a vital role in safeguarding food systems, animal nutrition and human health.”

Introducing Panavora

Aimed at meeting the demand for more sustainable and efficient animal protein production, Panavora will focus on premix distribution, specialized feed additives and digital solutions.

The company plans to partner with livestock producers across the value chain to improve animal health, performance and environmental outcomes under its mission to “feed the planet without costing the earth.”

“The future of animal nutrition will be shaped by data, science and closer collaboration across the value chain,” said Ivo Lansbergen, president of dsm-firmenich Animal Nutrition & Health and designated CEO of Panavora. “Panavora is being designed to help customers navigate that future with confidence by combining nutritional expertise, innovative solutions and precision capabilities that translate complex challenges into measurable results. We believe this focused approach will allow us to move faster and co-create greater value with our customers.”

What Does This Mean for Producers?

The split is designed to establish two focused organizations with distinct commercial strategies:

  • Noviwest will concentrate on manufacturing essential vitamins, carotenoids and ingredients to secure supply and quality across global nutrition chains.
  • Panavora will focus on customer-facing animal nutrition, accelerating innovation through science-based feed additives, premix programs and precision digital tools.

Once the transaction closes, Noviwest and Panavora will operate under independent governance and management. However, the two companies plan to maintain commercial collaboration in complementary areas so customers continue to access the combined breadth of their portfolios.
Separation activities will continue as the transaction moves toward closing, which remains subject to customary regulatory approvals and employee consultations. Until completion, Animal Nutrition & Health remains part of dsm-firmenich, with operations and customer service continuing without interruption.
