The pork industry benefitted with high prices that pushed the Pork Cutout $3/cwt higher than the prior week. However, the Lean Carcass Value also gained an additional $2/cwt to average $112.50/cwt.
This limited packer margins to only breakeven last week. At the same time, producer margins continued to gain, averaging an estimated $93/head against a breakeven price of $67/cwt.
