Three men arrested for pig theft

According to WNCT in Beulaville, N.C., three men from that area have been charged with 16 counts each of felony larceny after Duplin County deputies said they stole pigs from a Beulaville farm.

"Deputies said they responded to reports of a load of pigs leaving the farm and then stopped the vehicle and initiated an investigation into the swine theft," said the article from WNCT.

The farm's owner, Ernest Carter, was one of the three charged, noted the report.

"Deputies said the farm was integrated into Smithfield Hog Production, and he tried to take the pigs for himself," the report stated.

George Baker and Scott Thigpen were each charged with one count of felony possession of stolen property on top of the charges of swine theft.
