Americans are obsessed with bacon. Last year, we purchased more than $4 billion of the salty meat.
It's not a surprise though - the country is inundated with bacon festivals, bacon gifts, bacon pride (enter our contest to win a "Baconologist" shirt) and bacon roses‚...just to name a few.
Believe it or not, Americans haven't always loved bacon. Thanks to the industrial revolution, more Americans left their farming roots and hearty, farmer-approved bacon-filled breakfasts.
