USDA Meteorologist Releases Weather Forecast

As the northern stretches of the U.S. are dealing with one of the coldest April on record, planters are slowly starting to unfreeze.

On Monday, the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) will release a planting progress update, and by all accounts the pace should be much improved.

What should farmers expect from the weather the rest of the planting season?

AgDay national reporter Betsy Jibben talks with Brad Rippey, USDA chief meteorologist about his forecast.
