PORK Network.

In our third article honoring the five winners of the Honoring Caregivers award, we look at winner Tim Morgan:

As a sow farm manager with AMVC in Audubon, Iowa, Tim is known to give his all to his company, his animals and his coworkers.

"My goal is to come into work every morning and make the barn a little bit better than it was the day before," Tim stresses. Because of this selfless mentality and his go-getter attitude, it's no surprise he was nominated for the award by more than one person.

His peers praised Tim in many aspects, from leading his staff by example to going above and beyond for his animals. As one of his four nominators explains, "Tim sees the animals under his care as a gift to mankind and such a gift is to be cared for and treated respectfully."

Steve Schmitz was among those who nominated Tim for the award. He reiterated the extraordinary efforts Tim takes to care for the sows and piglets at the 2,500-head sow facility.

Schmitz says, "Tim believes that he has a responsibility to the animals placed in his care, and is, in a sense, their guardian. Due to his mentality, all of the pigs under Tim's care are properly cared for and handled. He is very deserving of this award."
