Show Off Pork’s Versatility this Super Bowl Sunday

Who’s ready for some football this weekend? Whether you’re cheering for the New England Patriots or the Los Angeles Rams, let’s be honest…it’s really about the food. And there’s no better way to support the pork industry than to pull out some of your best pork recipes to share with your friends on Sunday.

I am excited to watch the big game, but I’m also looking forward to the memories we make each year cheering alongside our friends, critiquing the commercials, watching the half-time show and most importantly, enjoying delicious appetizers and treats.

Here are a few recipes that are kid-tested and husband-approved around our house. What will you be serving at yours?

Sausage Balls
There’s just something about those tried and true family recipes that have been passed down over the years. Sausage balls are another Shike family favorite and only require Bisquick, shredded cheddar cheese and sausage. How simple is that? We like to serve sausage balls with spicy mustard for an extra kick!

Bacon Wrapped Green Beans

Bacon-Wrapped Green Beans
These delightful morsels of joy are easy and delicious…and we feel pretty good getting our veggies in, too! My tip? Line your casserole dish or cookie sheet with non-stick foil first. Bacon-wrapped green beans are one of my favorite recipes and they only requires bacon, frozen green beans, brown sugar, and salt and pepper.

Super Bowl Pork Nachos
Show off pork’s versatility with this crowd pleaser that features pork shoulder. It can easily be made in advance and warmed up in the crock pot on game day. Serve Super Bowl Pork Nachos with tortilla chips, lettuce, charred bell pepper slices, lime wedges, sour cream and shredded cheeses for a colorful spread on Sunday.

My mom always says you can’t go wrong with crescent rolls. And mom’s never steered me wrong! Check out this delicious recipe from that combines yummy seasonings, crescent rolls and Lil’ Smokies for the win.

Savory Caramel Pecan Dark Chocolate Bacon Bark
Of course, you need sweets to complete your Super Bowl offerings. This delicious dessert combines my favorite food – bacon – with chocolate chips, sugar, butter, heavy cream, pecans and sea salt for a flavorful treat that’s sure to impress.
