A semi trailer carrying 2,200 piglets rear ended another semi truck on a Missouri interstate, early Thursday morning. The accident sent the trucks sliding on wet pavement conditions, shutting down the westbound lanes of I-70 for more than an hour. Local news reports one of the trucks was off the side of the road with heavy damage. The trailer with the pigs looked intact by the local news photo above.

Officials say the animals will have to be unloaded from the semi one by one and checked for injury.
