BinMaster Product Eliminates Feed Delivery Emergencies

Looking for a solution to eliminate complex spreadsheets and climbing bins? BinMaster released a new solution called FeedView. This battery-powered, wireless sensor combined with simple software to automatically measure feed inventory will deliver timely data to your smartphone, tablet or PC.

FeedView provides a centralized location for current and historical data while keeping employees safe from the dangers – and errors – of manual measurements. FeedView is highly scalable from a single barn to national producers, ensuring everyone in the operation is making decisions based on the same information, a company release said.

FeedView’s dashboards provide an overview of each bin monitored and projects the days until it is empty, highlighting bins that are getting low and in need of a new delivery. The software calculates the amount of feed and the amount of room available in each bin. The software calculates projected feed usage based upon how much each animal consumes each day. FeedView allows users to manage different rations or formulations, record the use of medicated feeds and track when they are fed to each feed group. Historical reports can also show start and stop dates to comply with Veterinary Feed Directives.

The battery-powered FVL-100 laser level sensor measures feed in bins up to 35 feet tall and takes level measurements at scheduled time intervals to validate bin levels. The sensor mounts through a hole cut into the silo roof using a mounting plate. Turn the laser on, aim it to the desired measurement point, and connect the LG-100 gateway to the internet via cellular or Ethernet.

Kent Nutrition Group Launches NutriVantage Nutrition Optimizer For Swine

Kent Nutrition Group has released a new line of supplements for pigs — NutriVantage® Nutrition Optimizer® — a research-driven, unique blend of natural ingredients, vitamins and minerals that impact performance at every stage. For more than a decade, the species-specific formulas have been developed and field tested at the Kent Product Development Center near Muscatine, Iowa. These trials have shown that health challenged pigs have improved survivability — at least 25% — and increased net return by $0.25 per nursery pig.

Kent’s field studies have shown significant results in reducing mortality rates, stimulating a positive immune response and promoting a healthy gut environment, which ultimately means more return on investment for pork producers.

NutriVantage for swine formulas are made with exclusive nutritional components, including organic macromolecules, trace minerals, antioxidants and chelating agents that provide optimal nutritional supplementation to a pig’s digestive tract.

AP Featured Enhanced EDGE Controller at 2019 Illinois Pork Expo

AP (Automated Production Systems) featured its enhanced EDGE controller with scenario mode and new Commander high efficiency fans at the 2019 Illinois Pork Expo. The controller features a new scenario mode that makes temporary changes to environmental controls in swine production facilities easy and efficient. Scenario mode allows a group of functions, such as fans, inlets and lights, to be temporarily reset by operators using a “virtual” switch without having to reprogram the controller, a company news release said.

It can also be engaged by other barn employees, unfamiliar with the controller, simply by using a physical push button that activates predefined settings for a specific situation. In contrast, most control systems require barn employees to manually reset each environmental control individually, using individual buttons or switches, and then manually turn them off to return to standard settings.

The EDGE system can be activated and deactivated remotely from any Internet-connected device. In addition, minimum and maximum animal age, time of day and outside temperature can be specified to prevent a scenario from being activated when undesirable conditions exist.

AP’s EDGE controller handles all of the operational functions in single or multi-barn hog production environments. Producers can monitor and manage ventilation, cooling, heating, feeding and lighting systems from a single controller using one interface. It can be installed in new construction or as an upgrade to a current facility, integrating a wide variety of components into a single, efficient system.
