NAMI's Julie Anna Potts Sees U.S. Red Meat’s Success in Japan, Korea

Julie Anna Potts, president and CEO of the North American Meat Institute (NAMI), just made her first visit to two of the leading destinations for U.S. beef and pork – Japan and South Korea. Potts was accompanied by U.S. Meat Export Federation (USMEF) president and CEO Dan Halstrom and participated in several consumer events, retail promotions and industry meetings arranged by USMEF. She also received market briefings from U.S. Embassy staff in Tokyo and Seoul.

 

 

Potts offers observations from the consumer events and retail visits, noting that she was especially impressed with the manner in which U.S. beef and pork were presented and merchandised in these markets.

She also discusses the favorable access terms U.S. red meat enjoys under the Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement and says it is urgent that the U.S. reach a trade agreement with Japan. Listen to her audio report by clicking the player above.
