Axtra PHY, enzyme to improve phosphorous digestion
DuPont Animal Nutrition announced a Japanese launch of Axtra PHY, a phytase enzyme designed to improve animal performance and reduce phosphorus waste.  By breaking down phytate that binds phosphorus in plants, AxtraPHY releases more phosphorus to be available to hogs in the diet.  This means less phosphorus is required in feed.  The launch of Axtra PHY in Japan follows the 2017 launch of phytase enzyme Phyzyme XP.

Improved mycotoxin detection
Five new mycotoxins have been added to Alltech’s 37+ Laboratory testing panel, bringing the total number of detectable mycotoxins to 54.  Mycotoxins impact animal health and performance, and the testing service specializes in animal feed and rations.  The emerging mycotoxins added to the testing panel are beauvericin; monoliformin; enniatins A, A1, B and B1; phomopsin A and alternariol.  Alltech 37+ mycotoxin analytical services are in Lexington, Ky., and Dunboyne, Ireland.
