Icy roads and wintery weather conditions caused a semi full of pigs to turn over just south of Mead, Neb., on Monday morning.
Officials say the semitrailer flipped on its side between Highway 66 and Highway 92. The driver of the truck was not injured. However, an unknown number of pigs were killed in the crash, said Saunders County Sheriff Kevin Stukenholtz.
The pigs that survived had to be transferred to another trailer before a tow truck could get the damaged trailer back on its wheels.
