Even though I’ve decided not to let the hustle and the bustle of this holiday season keep me from what truly matters, let me be honest, that’s easier said than done. Christmas concerts, shopping, holiday baking, the Elf on the Shelf, tree decorating, and yet alone, peace on earth?!
I woke up this morning to the most beautiful masterpiece outside my window. As soon as the kids left for school, I popped on my boots and headed outside to take a few photographs. A few minutes after I returned and sat down to work, my husband called and told me to put my coat back on and go for a drive.
“If you just look out the door, you’ll miss how incredible it is. You’ve got to get out in it,” he said.
As I drove through the countryside, I couldn’t help but think about how much I needed that reminder. Just a little break to slow down and enjoy the beauty of this season. There will always be more work to do, more calls to make, more things to accomplish.
But the masterpiece of frost only lasts for so long.
