A series of federal trials are scheduled to begin next month in Raleigh, North Carolina after a series of complaints about emissions from hog operations.

Those eventual decisions could alter the operations of the state’s $2.3 billion industry.

This week, attorneys from both sides filed motions regarding specific pieces of evidence and testimony.

Allan Breed from the Associated Press reports on the battle between 500 residents and Murphy Brown LLC, a subsidiary of Smithfield Foods, on AgDay above.
